Black Trans Joy is a series of six video portraits that broadens public narrative about Black trans lives.  Each subject shares a piece of thier story, and how they find joy as a Black trans person.

The project was created through the Black Trans Art & Joy Fund, a private initiative that centers community care for Black Trans people (black trans women, black trans men and black trans non binary people) in Belgium and the Netherlands. It  was filmed and edited with the KLAUW collective, a queer iniative based in Rotterdam.

In addition to video portraits, a short film (35 minutes) was premiered during Black Achievement Month Den Haag in 2021.
